The mission of the YMCA Youth Tennis for Life Program is to instill and develop a love of the game of tennis. Our programs encourage a healthy and active life, Honesty and Fair Play, Team Work and Healthy Competition. We strive to create positive experiences that lead to success, joy, friendships and a life long love of the game of tennis.

QuickStart (Ages 4-10)
QuickStart introduces the game of tennis to kids ages 4 -10 in a Fun and interactive way. With modified equipment (lower compression balls, smaller courts and shorter racquets) kids can learn and enjoy the game faster then ever. This class focuses on developing Sending and Receiving Skills, (throwing, catching, hitting) Tennis FUNdamentals (tennis specific skills) Athletic Development (the joy of movement) as well as Teamwork and Sportsmanship.
- RED BALL – Ages 4-6 36’ Court
- ORANGE BALL – Ages 6-8, 60‘ Court
- GREEN BALL – Ages 8-10 78’ Court
Tennis Strategies 1 (Ages 10-13)
This class is for beginning and intermediate players and those moving up from our QuickStart program. We'll introduce and develop sound technique in all aspects of the game both technical and tactical. Tennis strategy and point construction is introduced through fun cooperative and competitive games and activities. All of our classes have an athletic development and sportsmanship component.
Tennis Strategies 2 (Ages 13-18)
This class is for Intermediate players moving up from our Tennis Strategies 1 class and those preparing to go into our Varsity Class. The class focuses is on the continuing development of sound technical and tactical skills and fundamentals of match play, for both singles and doubles. We continue to encourage Athletic development, teamwork and having fun while learning to compete.
Varsity (Ages 14-18)
This class is for High School students that are playing year around competitive tennis in tournaments or on their Varsity Team. Participants must be committed to improving all aspects of their game both during class and outside of class. Practices will be focused on developing skills and eliminating weaknesses. Many game situations will be used to understand and implement tactics and strategies
In an effort to ensure we are able to continue to offer important Financial Assistance to those who need it most, we are reviewing critical components of the process. All applicants interested in applying for Financial Assistance will be asked to:
Complete a Financial Assistance Questionnaire
- Provide your recent IRS 1040 showing your total income for the last year
- Provide two current pay stubs
- If you qualify for assistance, your award will be valid for 12 months once you initiate your membership. Prior to the Financial Assistance expiration date, we will send you a reminder requesting updated documentation in order to reapply for continued assistance.
